Here at C.S.M. Lo Cascio in Caltanissetta, much of the production of our internal tanks are coated with polyurethane paint, which is applied hot with the Bmixer machine. After necessary sandblasting to almost SA 2.5 grade metal in accordance with EN ISO 8501, a final film thickness of no less than 700 microns is applied. The coating of the tanks are then tested with high voltage scintillograph according to the UNI EN 12285 standard.
For the oil companies, we have adopted another type of coating using an epoxy paint called Amercoat 391PC. We perform a series of preliminary activities better illustrated below, such as:
1. WASHING OF THE TANK
2. CONTROL OF SALTS
3. SANDBLASTING
Among our state-of-the-art systems, we can certainly include the machine intended for sandblasting the products before applying any type of coating.
The ns. sandblasting tunnel has been sized to sand event tank diameters up to 3,000 mm and max length of 15,000 mm. The particular arrangement of the turbines allows us to obtain the required degree of sandblasting, no matter the inclination of the surface with respect to the feed axis.
Before the application of coatings, all tanks are prepared by sandblasting surfaces with grade SA 2.5 as defined in the UNI EN ISO 8503 standard.
1. VERIFICATION OF ROUGHNESS GRADE
2. DUST CHECK
3. COVERING WITH APPLICATION OF THE "AMERCOAT 391PC" EPOXY PAINT
4. THICKNESS
5. HOLIDAY TEST
